T-Shirt recycling

In all of his years as the owner of Stache's and Little Brothers, there was one thing my husband collected a lot of: band t-shirts. We live under piles of them, some worn to threadbare, others practically new. We are still storing an awful lot of things from the club that we've intended to sell on eBay or otherwise, but we keep getting sidetracked by things like surgery and eye infections. Sooner or later, we will unload our neon beer signs and other stuff.
While we can probably sell some of the shirts that are in decent shape by better-known acts as they are, there are others that need a salvage operation or feature bands who came and went like the wind. I do a little sewing, so I'm considering using some of those shirts in craft projects. Perhaps a few throw pillows, handbags or, I don't know... maybe some improvised stuffed creatures bound in hosed guitar cords.
Any other t-shirt recycling ideas out there?

on the show "rules of engagement," the wife made a quilt from squares of her husband's t-shirt collection. of course someone in crafts made it, I know, but it was a cute idea. the squares are large to show the printed shirt fronts. maybe a nice quilt is in your future too.

I've heard of the quilt thing too. Sounds like a nice idea....
Maybe a little time consuming?
Oh, once upon a time I saw something somewhere (I'm too old to remember ;-P)for old T-shirts. They were torn/cut into long strips and crocheted into throw rugs...because we all have time for that ;-)
