Everyone was making the same kind of catty remarks, all of us a bit unsettled by the woman&amp;#39;s performance. After a bit, though, I started feeling like you did at the newspaper office. I offered, &amp;quot;We don&amp;#39;t know what&amp;#39;s going on in her life.&amp;quot; And it helped. We all backed off our judgmentalism. I wish I could be in that space all the time, but like you I&amp;#39;m trying.
