I read "The Disappearance," years ago after hearing the very same broadcast you did. Ordered it fearfully, like mouthing a scorcerer's spell. I read it because her plain, straight, eyewitness telling, her truth, inspired my own. It is a slender thing. Read it and set it aside. And I loved and hated Liz Gilbert. The book she writes when she grows up will be wiser, just not nearly as much fun.
